Let’s Cha(r)t: the back to back DJ sets becomes a virtual link to the link on the tube, the console takes the form of a chat and the gossip made in a pub in front of a beer turns into a chatter 2.0.

Song #1 CRYSTAL FIGHTERS – I LOVE LONDON

CREAM: “My dear Tia… directly from London, this is my first video of this week!!! Last saturday i was in a party with my friends Bombay Bicycle Club making a djset… they played this song mashed up with Technologic by Daft Punk … it was AWEEEESOME!!! i know, this song is quite old (released on Kitsuné in December 2009), but this is my journey’s hymn: I LOVE LONDON!!!”

Song #2 BEVERLY KNIGHT & RONI SIZE – NO MORE

TIA: “Hi londoners… awsome! What’s going on in London? i love this song and the In Flagranti’s remix is great! i don’t know how is now the english music background (never been there), but in my mind the maximum representation of the music from across the Channel is this one: it’s poetry on music, it’s the perfect union from great beat and incredible vocal sound! And Roni Size is like a guru for me that I’m a dj.”

Song #3 THE VACCINES – IF YOU WANNA

CREAM: “I know i know… but now (and not only in London) the coolest sound on which all the UK labels are betting is the indie-rock. And you can see with your eyes, around in the city there are many and many billboards with new indie band sponsored (it seems crazy, but in London music is advertised in the streets). One of the band that has most captured my eyes and my ears is: THE VACCINES (a London-based band formed in 2010. Theyr debut album ‘What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?’ was released 14 March 2011 and last January, the band were placed third in the BBC’s Sound of 2011 poll).”

Song #4 THE INVISIBLE – LONDON GIRL

TIA: “Cool clip… and cool song, i don’t know them, but I’ll check them out!!! You’re fucking right about indie rock, and remaining in this genre i suggest you this band: THE INVISIBLE, in the 2009 they were nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, and was also selected by the iTunes UK editorial team as ‘iTunes Album Of The Year”… ”

Song #5 JAZZSTEPPA – AMERICA B (LIVE)

CREAM: “Can i switch to another genre? Yesterday i was in one of my favorite music shop in brick lane… and they were playing a so fucking cool cd… i stopped a girl in the shop and like a music-addicted i said “Whose the fuck is this music?”. The girl gave me a burned cd on which there was writted by pen JAZZSTEPPA: here it is!!!”

Song #6 MR. SCRUFF – GET A MOVE ON

TIA: “Wooooooooow… it’s an incredibile sound, they play live dubstep with acoustic instruments, have u bought a cd to me? A gift for your friend? Talking about incredibile sound and UK… I’m crazy for Mr. Scruff’s sound… he’s famous for his marathon djing sets (often exceeding six hours)… check on his official soundcloud (http://soundcloud.com/mr-scruff). Here my favorite track… click play and have fun!!!”

Song #7 PINK FLOYD – ASTRONOMY DOMINE

CREAM: “Didn’t know he was from UK… i’m reading just now his bio: ‘he started play music and making djing when he was 12′………..NO COMMENT!!! My dear now i gotta go… I’m going to a art exhibition dedicated to Syd Barret… and since i know in last days Roger Waters was in Milan… i decided to leave this chat with one of the bricks in the history of
music… the first track featured on Pink Floyd’s debut album: ‘Astronomy Domine’ (from ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’ – 1967). It’s a rare recording since in the original video, filmed in Belgium in 1969, Syd Barrett does not appear as he had been replaced by David Gilmour (Gilmour lip-synced Syd’s voice in the videos). My dear, for me THIS IS UK SOUND… THAT’S IT!!!”

TIA: “Say hello to London for me =)”
